Aspirin vs Anticoagulants

Aspirin vs Anticoagulants

This medical exhibit shows the cross sectional view of a vessel comparing normal clotting, aspirin, and anticoagulants. Normal clotting shows platelets and protein strands flowing into a region with a vessel tear and filling it by forming a clot. Aspirin (antiplatelet drug) makes platelets less able to stick together whereas anticoagulants (Coumain, Xarelto, and Eliquis) work by interfering with the production of blood clotting proteins that are crucial to the clotting process.
