Deep Medullary Thrombosis with Resulting Intraparenchymal Hemorrhage
Coronal view of the brain showing the deep medullary veins, Cortical veins and Choroidal veins. The complex network of medullary veins drain into larger veins and these drain into even larger veins that take flow out of the brain. The development of a thrombus in the vein occludes blood flow. Multiple blockages in the venous system prevent blood flow leading to intraparenchymal hemorrhage. This medical animation was used in a courtroom to educate the jury.
