This exhibit shows the coronal view of the heart in diastole and systole phases with an ejection fraction. In the diastole phase, the ventricles are filled with 100% capacity. In the systole phase, the contraction of the ventricles forces 60% of the blood up into the aorta, and the remaining 40% of the blood remains in the ventricles.
