This exhibit shows the axial view of the L5-S1 disc space undergoing a laminectomy and bilateral foraminotomies. In these procedures, the L5 laminae is removed for decompression and to expose the underlying spinal canal. The thecal sac is then retracted medially in order to perform the bilateral foraminotomies.
