This exhibit shows the anterior cut-away view of the layers of the skull and brain. The cut-away view above the right sylvian fissure shows the layers including the skin, subcutaneous fat, muscle, periosteum, outer table of the skull, spongy bone, inner table of the skull, meninges (dura, arachnoid, and pia mater), grey matter, white matter, and middle cerebral artery (MCA).
