Open Reduction-Internal Fixation of Left Posterior Acetabulum Fracture
This animation shows the open reduction-internal fixation of the left posterior acetabulum fracture following fragmented fractures of the posterior acetabulum. An incision is created around the hip for the posterior approach to the acetabulum. The piriformis and obturator internus tendons are then cut to reveal the posterior wall of the acetabulum. Once the acetabulum is in view, the major fracture fragments are removed and fixation hardware is placed.
