Superficial Femoral Artery Endarterectomy with Vein Patch Angioplasty
The anterior view of a superficial femoral artery endarterectomy procedure with vein patch angioplasty. The first step in this procedure is creating a large medial left thigh incision to expose the femoral artery. Next, transection of the band of fibrotic material compressing the artery within the adductor canal is performed. The third step shows the opening of the artery and removal of the gelatinous material. The last step in this procedure shows the patching of the artery with the vein graft.
