This exhibit shows the anterior view of the vagina undergoing a hysterectomy with the patient in a lithotomy position. In this procedure, the vagina is opened to reveal the cervix using a speculum. A circumferential incision is then made around the cervix in order to detach various ligament from the uterus. The uterus and cervix are then removed.
