This exhibit shows what the vagus nerve innervates as it is responsible for the regulation of internal organ functions including the liver, intestines, stomach, kidney, spleen, heart, and the lungs. Other nerve anatomy highlighted in this exhibit includes the superior and inferior vagal ganglions, pharyngeal branch, laryngeal branches, cardiac branch, pulmonary plexus, esophageal plexus, and the celiac plexus.
